Charles J. Dobroski ’73

Charles J. Dobroski ’73 died on December 27, 2022, in Wilmington, Delaware. Chuck came to Dartmouth from the Salesianum School in Wilmington, where he was a high school All-American football player. At Dartmouth Chuck played freshman football before transferring to the University of Delaware, where he finished his varsity football career as a defensive back. He earned a master’s from the University of Delaware’s College of Marine Studies in Lewes, Delaware. Chuck had a long career as an environmental consultant, first with Weston Solutions in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and then in 1999 as a founding member of Avatar Environmental Inc. in the same city. Retiring in 2020, he enjoyed with his family and grandchildren a second home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He was an avid reader and loved music, watching the Philadelphia sports teams, adventures with his grandchildren, storytelling, beach time, and impromptu lunches. Chuck is survived by his wife, Vicki, daughters Sarah and Caitlin, siblings Cynthia and James, two grandsons, and nieces and nephews.
