Gregg Hannah ’65

Gregg Hannah ’65 died of a heart attack on December 23, 2021, in Dewey Beach, Delaware. He came to Dartmouth from New Jersey, majored in art, and was active in the Dartmouth Outing Club and Army ROTC. Following his military service, primarily in Germany, he received an M.B.A. from Northwestern University in 1972. He also became a certified financial analyst. Gregg had an accomplished and diverse career. He first worked in the Minneapolis financial industry at Norwest Bank and then held successive roles, including president, at Marquette Capital Management Corp. Later, Gregg taught investment management, international business, and marketing at Nichols College in Connecticut as a tenured associate professor. A leader in the community, Gregg served as Connecticut State University System and George Stevens Academy trustee, Worchester Economic Club executive committee member, Woodlawn trustee treasurer, Bar Harbor Bankshares director, and Colloquy Downeast cofounder. An avid traveler, Gregg visited more than 100 countries and was a member of the Traveler Century Club. He was a connoisseur of food, culture, and fellowship wherever he went and often wrote about his amazing travels. Gregg led a robust life and taught his son, Alexander, a great deal, including an appreciation for travel and international cuisine and how to drive a tractor. Gregg’s family and friends miss his sense of humor, social personality, and passion. He is survived by Alexander and his wife Margaret.
