Timothy Wagner ’54

Timothy Wagner ’54 of Aurora, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022. He grew up in Aurora and was a proud alum of Western Reserve Academy. Tim recalled his time there with special fondness. At Dartmouth he majored in physics, played baseball, and was a brother of Delta Kappa Epsilon. Tim went on to Purdue University and became a teacher at Bay High School outside Cleveland for 39 years. He described teaching as “the greatest profession in the world.” A man of faith, Tim was an active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood for 40 years and later a member of the Church in Aurora for more than 20 years. Tim had a wide range of interests, including art and literature, science, and religion, and especially music. Tim and his wife of 68 years, Martha, shared a lifetime of hard work, travel, volunteer service, and a busy family. Martha was by his side throughout his later years as he succumbed to Alzheimer’s. He was predeceased by son Mark. He is survived by Martha, son Stephen, daughter Jill, and son-in-law James.
