Peter K. Davis ’63, a member of a Dartmouth family, died on September 22, 2022, at Portsmouth (New Hampshire) Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Pete was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, and attended Brockton High School, where he was co-captain of the basketball and tennis teams. At Dartmouth he majored in government and was a brother of Phi Delt. Pete was an active outdoorsman, a member of the Dartmouth Outing Club, and director of winter sports as well as a member of the ski patrol. He was also a member of the Undergraduate Council and Air Force ROTC. After Dartmouth he received a degree in business from the University of New Hampshire and then joined the Marine Corps as an aviator, retiring in 1984 as a lieutenant colonel, having served two tours in Vietnam. He moved to New Hampshire and was active in a family company, Shaw’s Supermarkets, and as a trustee of its Davis Educational Foundation. Pete’s enthusiasm for the outdoors continued all his life; he summited all of the New Hampshire White Mountains greater than 4,000 feet in the winter. Pete is survived by his wife, Linda, and two children.
