David A. Shepard Jr. ’58

David A. Shepard Jr. ’58 passed away in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on July 14, 2021. Dave entered Dartmouth from Purchase, New York, and Deerfield Academy and stood out as a good friend among the freshmen in Gile Hall. He majored in geography, was a brother at Sigma Chi, and played on the squash and soccer teams. Dave worked in Argentina and the Middle East for a time. He was a VP at Wells Fargo Bank in the San Francisco area for 25 years and started an investment advisory firm. In 1986 Dave retired in Santa Fe, where he had vacationed as a boy with his parents and several cousins. He was a key player in the Art Barns development south of Santa Fe and canoed many white-water rivers in the Western states. Dave is survived by his second wife, Victoria, two daughters, and seven grandchildren.
