William Carlton LaFleur ’58

William Carlton LaFleur ’58 died April 5 in Westerly, Rhode Island. Carl was a philosophy major and active in Newman Club and the Dartmouth Players. After Dartmouth Carl earned a master’s in special education and taught youth with developmental disabilities in Connecticut and New Hampshire. He eventually retired as principal of Sacred Heart School in Groton, Connecticut. Carl studied at St. Thomas Seminary and was ordained as a permanent deacon in the Roman Catholic diocese of Providence, Rhode Island. He served in this role for 45 years. Carl is survived by Dawn, his wife of 60 years, plus a daughter and a son.
