Robert Goldberg ’63

Robert Goldberg ’63 died March 24 after a long battle with heart disease. He attended Conard High School in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he was a soloist in the glee club. He continued his singing at Dartmouth in the Glee Club and the Injunaires. Classmates marveled at his gorgeous high tenor voice at a time when, with the Injunaires, he soloed on “Long Ago and Far Away” and “Where or When” among others. He was also a featured concert pianist. After Dartmouth Bob made a career marketing educational materials. He survived a near fatal heart attack at age 39 and was treated for heart disease for the rest of his life. He and his wife, Carole, met in the ninth grade and were married in 1963. They were amicably divorced in 1994 and remarried in 1997. Carole says, “We tried to make divorce work, but we just couldn’t.” Bob is survived by Carole and two sons.
