John Peter Donahue ’54 passed away peacefully in Provincetown, Massachusetts, on October 16, 2021. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, attended Cambridge Rindge High School and came to Dartmouth from Kimball Union Academy. On campus he was a brother at Storrs House/Delta Kappa Epsilon and a member of Sphinx. Jack skated on the hockey team and majored in geography. In addition to his classroom efforts, he became known as “Coach D.” across Cape Cod for his success as a coach, mentor, developer, and counselor of student-athletes in soccer, hockey, and baseball. His teams accrued more than 1,000 wins. Jack and his wife, Antoinette, also owned and operated the Everbreeze Restaurant during summers in Provincetown. Jack was predeceased by Antoinette and one grandson. He is survived by sons Jon, David, and Michael; their spouses; three grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
