Harry S. Weaver III ’57

Harry S. Weaver III ’57 passed away at his home in Salem, Virginia, on October 31, 2020, after a short battle with lung cancer. Harry grew up in Medford Lakes, New Jersey, and graduated from Episcopal Academy. At Dartmouth he majored in economics, was on his dormitory committee, and participated in radio broadcasting with WDBS and the motor sports club. He earned a degree in engineering. Harry was founder and longtime president of Salem-based QualiChem Inc., which develops and manufactures water-treatment chemicals worldwide. After retirement in 2003 Harry and his wife, Jo, spent time between homes in Salem and Florida. They enjoyed traveling together and time with friends and family. He especially enjoyed playing golf. Harry is survived by Jo, his wife of 17 years; sons James and William; daughter Laurel; stepsons Jeffrey and Steven; stepdaughter Deborah; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and dog Suzie.
