Ronald F. Judson ’57

Ronald F. Judson ’57 died on October 30, 2020, at his Cromwell, Connecticut, home. Ron graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and Poly Prep School, both in Brooklyn. At Dartmouth he majored in English and was a member of Beta Theta Pi, Sphinx, and the Newman Club. He was an outstanding athlete and played basketball (high-scoring forward and captain) and baseball (pitcher). At graduation he received the prize for the best all-around athlete. Ron was signed by the Boston Red Sox and pitched for three years in the minor leagues. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Ron was employed by Citibank in New York City, earned a professional management degree from Harvard Business School mid-career, and retired as vice president. Ron raised his family in Garden City, New York. He was active with the Garden City Men’s Association, Garden City Athletic Association, Garden City Baseball League, and Saint Joseph Men’s Guild. He played golf at the Garden City Country Club. He was a constant reader. His vast collection of books showed his many interests. Ron also practiced magic and was a painter. Ron loved his Dartmouth heritage and was a longtime class agent for the Alumni Fund. A devoted father and grandfather, he leaves sons Ronald and Stephen, daughter Kristene, and seven grandchildren.
