Nicholas Hunter Bradley ’52

Nicholas Hunter Bradley ’52 of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, passed away on September 13, 2020. Nicholas was born on November 14, 1930, in New York City and grew up in Taunton, Massachusetts. After graduating from Taunton High School he graduated from Dartmouth with a degree in economics. He was a member of Gamma Delta. After college he joined General Electric Co., working in New York and Illinois, and subsequently worked for many years in New York City at Kennecott Copper and Bronx Lebanon Hospital in human resources. He retired at 83 after working for FedEx. Nicholas was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, New Jersey, loved reading historical nonfiction, was an avid snow skier in his younger years, and enjoyed sailing on Lake Hopatcong and Lake Michigan. Nicholas was diagnosed at the age of 11 with Type 1 diabetes and was one of the longest survivors of the disease without major complications. He was awarded a medal four years ago, on the 75th anniversary of his diagnosis, by Joslin Diabetes Center. He donated tissue to be used posthumously to help aid research. Nicholas is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carole; daughter Meredith and her husband, Blaine; daughter Caroline and her husband, Craig; and granddaughters Jaden, Cora, and Chloe. Nicholas’ father, Tudor, class of 1920, uncle Craig Cain ’45, and brother-in-law Robert Nash ’66 were alumni.
