Paul also met Daniel Mishell, M.D., an expert in family planning who offered Paul a position in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. Paul served there from 1973 until he retired in 2011. As a member of the faculty he became director of the residency program and the human research committee. He is survived by Mirjam, two daughters, and three “high-energy, unpredictable, and sensational grandsons.”
