Robert E. MacFadyan ’55

Robert E. MacFadyan ’55 passed away on July 28. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, and daughters Kristin and Gwynne. Bob came to Dartmouth from Mount Hermon Preparatory School in Northfield, Massachusetts. He majored in mathematics and was a member of the Air Force ROTC, Alpha Theta, Glee Club, and the hockey team. Following his Air Force service as a fighter pilot, Bob became an airline pilot and a computer systems analyst. He then completed an actuarial program at the College of Insurance in Manhattan and became the lead pension person at Westvaco Corp. in Richmond, Virginia. Bob retired to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he volunteered at the National Estuarine Research Reserve and received a citation for his service from the state senate.
