Jun-Kyu Park ’98

Jun-Kyu Park ’98, also known as Jaysen, passed away January 9 of liver cancer. Park lived in Seoul, South Korea, and was the country head of Riot Games, Korea, an American video game developer, publisher, and e-sports tournament organizer best known for releasing and continuing to develop the popular game League of Legends. In addition to promoting and broadcasting League of Legends Champions Korea, Park made substantial contributions to Riot Music, which produces music for Riot’s video games. Park was remembered as a “brilliant and respected leader” and as a “kind, down-to-earth person who genuinely cared about the people with which he interacted.” At Dartmouth Park majored in English and creative writing. Following graduation he stayed involved with Dartmouth, serving as an alumni interviewer from 2005 to 2015 and recently as vice president of Korea’s Dartmouth Club.
