Edward Crane ’45

Edward Crane ’45 died on May 11. He was born in Burlington, Vermont, and graduated from Dartmouth and the University of Vermont Medical School before serving in the Army and Air Force. While stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he met his future wife, Anne. After assignments in Texas and Alabama, they retired in Frisco, Texas, in 1987. Ed volunteered with the Summit Seniors in many roles, including president for two years and chair of fundraising for the community and senior center. Father Dyer Church and the Summit Choral Society benefited from his lyric tenor voice. Ed competed in the master’s racing program until he was 82. An amateur photographer, he could be found all over the county bent over his tripod and camera and delighted in giving slideshows to the first-graders at Frisco Elementary. Ed is survived by Anne, four children, four stepchildren, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be planned for a later date.
