Don Walter Hummel ’55

Don Walter Hummel ’55 passed away on March 18. Don came to Dartmouth from North Muskegon High School in Michigan. He majored in economics and was a member of Delta Tau Delta, DOC, and Army ROTC. He was also drum major of the band for four years. After earning an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, he began a 37-year career as a commercial banker at the Northern Trust Bank of Chicago. Don served as president of the Dartmouth Club of Chicago and was honored as Club President of the Year. He also was president of the Alumni Council. He is survived by his wife, Kayl, and daughters Kati, Becky, and Ginger.
