James E. Conlin ’54

James E. Conlin ’54 passed away August 8, 2008, in Nashua New Hampshire, the College has recently learned. Jim graduated ninth in his class from Nashua High School in 1950. At Dartmouth he was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa and attended Tuck School. Upon his graduation he served his country during the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge, he went on to get his graduate degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He worked for many years at the former J.F. McElwain Co. until the business moved out of Nashua in 1981. He then embarked on a second career as a college professor. He enjoyed immensely working for almost 20 years at Fitchburg State College and Rivier College. He retired in 2000 due to health-related issues. He was survived by his wife, Alice, and children Eric, Kevin, William, Thomas, and Ann.
