Peter Teunis Muilenburg ’67
Peter Teunis Muilenburg ’67 of Penney Farms, Florida, died on August 25, 2019. He came to the College from Manila, Philippines, and was a member of the Dartmouth Forensic Union and Civil Rights Society. The son of missionaries, Peter was active in civil rights efforts and was part of the Freedom Riders in Mississippi. In 1967 he married Dorothy and moved to St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, where he taught school and wrote several books on his sailing adventures as a charter captain. In 2012 Parkinson’s disease forced him to move to Florida, where he could receive more comprehensive care. He is survived by Dorothy and sons Diego and Raff ’92 and their families.
