Gerald Dillon Coffey ’55

Gerald Dillon Coffey ’55 passed away on August 22, 2019, in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, and is survived by children Elizabeth and William. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Gere came to Dartmouth from Lawrenceville Academy. He majored in English and was a member of Chi Phi. He joined the Air Force and became a B-47 pilot. After completing his service, Gere joined Northeast Airlines before starting a 36-year career with Penton Publishing of Cleveland. He retired as publisher of Air Transport Magazine. He and his wife divided their time between homes in New Jersey and Florida. They formed HABcore of Red Bank, New Jersey, an organization that provides support for homeless families and veterans.
