Jacque Edward Sohm ’60

Jacque Edward Sohm ’60 of Vero Beach, Florida, died of pancreatic cancer on July 20. Born in Cleveland to Edward William and Ardith Sohm, he attended high school in Bedford, Ohio, where he graduated as salutatorian. He attended Dartmouth with a full Navy scholarship and was a member of Gamma Delta Chi and ROTC. Graduating in 1960, Jacque served three years in the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged with the rank of captain. He subsequently enrolled in night school at New York University, where he received his M.B.A. He worked his entire career of 35 years in the New York office of the First National Bank of Chicago in its municipal bond department, retiring as a senior vice president. During this time he and his family resided in Scarsdale, New York. Jacque was an avid golfer and a member of Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, for 25 years. Jacque and Lucy moved to the warmer weather of Vero Beach, Florida, where he continued playing golf at the Bent Pine Golf Club for another 24 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucy, son Jeffrey, daughter Sarah, and grandchildren Marcella and Jeffrey.
