Steven “Buck” Foote ’83

Steven “Buck” Foote ’83 died June 4 following a two-year battle with cancer. The youngest of eight children, Steve was raised in Lansing, Michigan, and graduated from East Lansing High School. At Dartmouth he was a member of Casque & Gauntlet and Chi Gamma Epsilon/Kappa Sigma and played football and baseball. Following graduation Steve married Lynne O’Connell in Hanover on December 3, 1983. They had twins Henry and Madeleine, twins Bailey and Mariah, and Elinor and Oliver. Steve pursued a successful career in the securities industry at Carr Securities, Mabon, Nugent & Co, Ingalls and Snyder, Morgan Stanley, and JP Morgan Securities. He enjoyed travel, aviation, and spending time at his country home at the Onteora Club in NY. He was a lifelong fan of the Michigan State Spartans. Steve’s faith was a very important part of his life. He is survived by Lynne, six children, and seven siblings.
