Charles M. Cockerill ’67

Charles M. Cockerill ’67, Esq., of Washington, D.C., died on June 3 following a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Charlie came to the College from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, majored in history, and was a brother of Phi Gamma Delta. After graduation Charlie earned his law degree from American University and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1970. He worked in private practice in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, as a public defender in Montgomery County, and served as a family law magistrate in Montgomery County Circuit Court. Charlie was passionate about his local sports teams, music, and his family. He is survived by his wife, Anita, daughter Kelly, and son James.
