James C. Lawrence III ’57

James C. Lawrence III ’57 passed away on October 13, 2018, at his home in Fort Myers, Florida. Jim was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and graduated from Nether Providence High School in Moylan, Pennsylvania. At Dartmouth he majored in mathematics. He was a brother in Sigma Phi Epsilon and a diver on the men’s swimming team. He was in the Dartmouth Lutheran Club and the Navy ROTC. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1960. Jim and his family lived for many years in Wilmington, Delaware. He worked for the DuPont Co. In 1973 he earned an M.B.A. at the University of Delaware. He was in information systems within the computer technology field. The family then moved to Fort Myers, where Jim was in the real estate business. He served as the local Dartmouth alumni club president in Delaware from 1972 to 1974 and as club secretary in Florida from 1996 to 2000. Jim is survived by his wife, Corinne, daughter Kimberly, and son Scott.
