Richard Kendall Wells ’66, Th’67

Richard Kendall Wells ’66, Th’67, an early computer entrepreneur, died unexpectedly at his home in Manhattan on January 18, 2018. Dick was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and graduated from Lebanon (New Hampshire) High School. After earning his A.B. at Dartmouth, where he was a member of Alpha Theta, he went on to Thayer School of Engineering, Harvard Business School, and MIT. Dick served as founding president of the North East Regional Computer Program. He worked in venture capital at JPMorgan and later owned and operated an oil and gas company. For the last 20 years he owned Computer Help, where he gave basic assistance as well as industry consultation. Dick was a member of the First Monday Harvard Businessmen’s Club in Manhattan and the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed photography and spending time sailing and jogging. Richard loved with his whole heart and will be missed by many. He leaves behind his sister, Carolyn, nephews Shawn and Jeremy, and former spouse Patricia.
