Myles J. Slosberg ’58
Myles J. Slosberg ’58, Tu’59, passed away on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on August 31. “Milo” graduated from Brookline (Massachusetts) High School and lived his whole life in the Boston area. At Dartmouth he was a member of Psi Upsilon and part of the 3-2 Tuck School program, earning an M.B.A. In his words, “I have had two interesting careers. First I worked for 27 years at Stride Rite Corp. [a shoe manufacturing business founded by my grandfather in 1919], which had at a high point 11 shoe factories in the United States and $600 million in sales. Eventually, I became CEO. My second career entailed my leaving Stride Rite in 1986 to enroll in Harvard Law School. I graduated and passed the bar in 1989—a challenging, to put it mildly, experience for me at the time. I enjoyed it immensely. I joined the Massachusetts attorney general’s office [and] prosecuted criminal cases, armed robberies, drug trafficking, white-collar crime, and more until 1995, when I retired.” Milo and his family had a winter home in Jupiter, Florida, and summered on Cape Cod. He was a runner for many years and participated for 15 years in a 200-mile bicycling event as a fundraiser for cancer research. He had a pilot’s license, flew his own plane, and enjoyed fishing trips to Russia, Panama, and Iceland. Milo’s first wife predeceased him in 2005; he is survived by his second wife, Diane, three children (two of them Dartmouth alums), and six grandchildren.
