Michael Bartholomew Freedman ’54

Michael Bartholomew Freedman ’54 passed away on September 5, 2023, in Springettsbury, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Torrington (Connecticut) High School. He spent his career in water and sewer management, having earned a professional engineer license. He worked as a marine engineer with American Export Lines—which included a military obligation with the U.S. Navy—followed by serving as a nuclear waste manager for AMF, chief engineer at Vacumite, and superintendent of utilities for the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Michael was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Jennie, in 2013. He is survived by daughter Stephany, son Michael, granddaughter Genevieve, and brother James.
