Mark Andrew Batory ’86
Mark Andrew Batory ’86 of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on August 22. Mark was born in Ohio in 1964. He grew up in Pickerington, Ohio, and attended Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus. At Dartmouth Mark graduated with a degree in economics. He was in Kappa Sigma, participated in theater, served as an undergraduate advisor, and played football. In 1993 Mark earned an M.B.A. from the Northwestern Kellogg Business School. He graduated from medical school from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003 and completed his fellowship in child and adolescence psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His first job as a child and adolescent psychiatrist was in Wauwatosa at Aurora Hospital. For the last three years Mark worked at ABC Behavioral Health. He recently opened a small private practice out of his home. Mark cared deeply about people who were hurting—especially children—which is why he chose to become a psychiatrist. In addition to being a caring doctor and devoted father, Mark was an active member of the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church, where his memorial Mass was celebrated. He also loved participating in community theater. Mark’s smile, quirky personality, and big heart will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and patients. Memorial donations can be sent to Kyle’s Korner, The Reiman Center for Grieving Children, Teens, and Their Families, at https://kyleskorner.org.
