Margo Krasnoff ’78

Margo Krasnoff ’78 died on January 14, 2015, from an accidental fall down a flight of stairs in her Plainfield, New Hampshire, home. Margo attended medical school at Dartmouth, interned at Hitchcock Medical Center and spent most of her career on the Dartmouth medical faculty. One of Margo’s faculty colleagues described her as, “Dartmouth all the way.” She volunteered as a doctor in Central America and in 2013 wrote a guide for global healthcare workers. She also loved the outdoors, hiking all of New Hampshire’s 4,000-footers, and recently completed the 300-mile Catamount trail on skis. “She was one of the most inspirational people I saw at the last class reunion,” recalled Genet Ide Duke ’78. “She was an incredibly good, generous, helpful person.” At a Rollins Chapel memorial service colleagues and patients recalled her caring and compassion. “I will miss her gentle hands, reassuring smile and words of wisdom,” one of her patients wrote in a card read at the service. Margo is survived by her mother, Lynn, partner Bob Wanamaker, and brother Mitch and his wife, Marcia.
