Laurence R. Veator ’55

Laurence R. Veator ’55 died at his home in Gloucester, Massachusetts, on September 20, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Patti; children David, Christopher, John, and Laura; and grandchildren Caitlin, Kyle, Sydney, Charlotte, and Audry. After graduating from Gloucester High School, Dave came to Dartmouth, where he majored in economics and was a member of Kappa Sigma, Green Key, and ROTC. Larry was a lieutenant in the Army, stationed in Munich, until 1958. He then graduated from Harvard Business School in 1960. A year later he married Patricia Ann Reilly. Larry had a 28-year career as an executive with W.R. Grace and retired in 1988 as the president of the Pacific Inter-American division at Grace’s New York City headquarters.
