Kenneth S. Swinski ’73

Kenneth S. Swinski ’73 died on November 20, 2020, at home in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. A native of Holyoke, Massachusetts, Ken came to Dartmouth from Holyoke High School. At the College he lived in New Hampshire dormitory and majored in mathematics. Ken rowed crew as a freshman and sophomore and was a member of Sigma Theta Epsilon. After graduation Ken went to work as a database administrator at the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. (MassMutual) in Springfield, Massachusetts. After a 36-year career in MassMutual’s information technology department, Ken retired in 2009. In addition to cooking as a master chef for friends and family, Ken enjoyed traveling, long walks, hiking, skiing, and playing board games. He was active in the Dartmouth Club of Pioneer Valley in Springfield as an admissions interviewer, the events chair, and from 2015 to 2018 as vice president. He is survived by four stepsiblings. Ken was always grateful for the financial aid he received as an undergraduate, and memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Dartmouth College Student Support Endowment Fund, Gift Recording Office, 6066 Development Office, Hanover, NH 03755-4400, or to the Point Foundation, 6230 Wilshire Blvd., Suite A PMB 890, Los Angeles, CA 90048.
