Joseph Bevan Goodwin ’59
Joseph Bevan Goodwin ’59 died on July 11, 2017. He entered Dartmouth from Community High School in Tehran, Iran, and majored in English. Immediately following graduation he taught English for a year at the Cairo American College in Egypt. He was a writer for several publications, including School Bulletin and Highlights for Children, published by the National Geographic Society and Smithsonian Books. He retired in 1995. Having spent early years in Utah and Alabama, Iran and Egypt, Joe continued to travel extensively throughout his life, principally with his wife of more than 50 years, Anne, and their daughter, Liz. In addition to both of them, Joe is survived by daughter Juliette Davis and her husband, Brantley; son Mark and his wife, Rebecca; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters Connie and Marilyn.
