John “Pete” N. Wheeler Jr. ’55

John “Pete” N. Wheeler Jr. ’55 died in Ormond Beach, Florida, on June 21. He is survived by Sue, his wife of 62 years, son Peter, and daughters Robin and Holly. Pete was born and raised in Bronxville, New York, and came to Dartmouth from the Hackley School. He majored in history and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Glee Club, and the Yacht Club. After completing his two years of military service with the Army in Orleans, France, Pete joined his father’s company, J.D. Wheeler Inc., in Irvington on Hudson, New York. In 1980 he earned an M.A. in counseling from Stetson University and began a new career as a psychotherapist.
