John P. Bailey Jr. ’55

John P. Bailey Jr. ’55 died September 28, 2017, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He came to Dartmouth from the McDonough School in Troy, Ohio. Jack majored in English and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi, the lacrosse team and NROTC. He also was editor of Dogwatch and played in the Marching Band. After nine years in the Navy, Jack left as a lieutenant commander and enrolled in the University of Florida’s doctoral program in education. He became an assistant professor at the University of Florida and director of the Parent-Child Center. In 1979 he became president of Bailey and Hunt Inc., specializing in the management of large education studies. Jack is survived by his wife, Sally, and children Susan, Carolyn and John III.
