John K. Wetzel ’55

John K. Wetzel ’55 died at his home in Fairlee, Vermont, on April 25. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and his children, Daniel, James, Susan, Deborah, and Thomas. He also leaves 16 grandchildren. A graduate of McDonough School in Maryland, John played varsity lacrosse at Dartmouth and was president of Zeta Psi. He also was a member of Casque & Gauntlet and Air Force ROTC. After earning an M.B.A. from Tuck Business School, John served three years in the Air Force as a captain, flying multi-engine aircraft. In 1959 he began his business career in New York as treasurer of National Industrial Products Co. and later became vice president of Irving Trust Co. and Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. He retired in 1997.
