John E. Glovsky ’65

John E. Glovsky ’65 died in Manchester, Massachusetts, on May 23. He came to Dartmouth from Beverly, Massachusetts, and was active in Aegis, the Players, and Tau Epsilon Phi. John received his J.D. from Boston College in 1969 and joined the family law firm in his hometown of Beverly, where he spent his career. John was honored to join the legacy of his grandfather, father, uncle, and brother in the family law firm Glovsky & Glovsky. John was the epitome of hard work and dedication. A thoughtful listener and problem solver, he focused on his clients’ needs. John admired his grandfather’s devotion to public service and spent much time engaged in those efforts. When not at the office, John could be found on the golf course; traveling with his wife of 58 years, Andrea; sailing with friends; doing New York Times crossword puzzles; visiting great works of art; or walking his many pups on the beach in the early mornings. Family and friends recall his dry wit and the twinkle in his eye. He was proud to be in the second of four successive generations at Dartmouth, following his father, C. Henry ’39, with brothers Mark ’69 and Alan ’73 and succeeded by son Alex ’91 and grandson William ’23—other Dartmouth relatives include 10 uncles and cousins. John is survived by Andrea, children Alex and Gillian and their partners, and grandchildren William, Nicholas, Cordelia, and Charlotte.
