John C. Kimberley ’55
John C. Kimberley ’55 died on February 24 in Arlington, Massachusetts. Jack had an active student life when he came from Scotch Plains High School in Fanwood, New Jersey. Jack majored in economics and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Air Force ROTC. He served on the Dormitory Council and was manager of the varsity hockey team. He was also active in the DOC and Dartmouth Christian Union. In his 25th reunion book Jack wrote, “The Dartmouth experience was a happy, proud, and profoundly influential period in my life.” Jack was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and served with distinction in both active and reserve duty from 1956 to 1970. He was a Strategic Air Command captain and air refueling pilot. Following his military service Jack embarked on a successful career in financial services. He became vice president, CEO, and director of the Citizen’s National Bank in Malone, New York. He also served as president of the Malone Chamber of Commerce and treasurer of the Alice Hyde Medical Center. In his retirement Jack continued to share his energy and expertise. He spent summers on Martha’s Vineyard and volunteered as a tour guide for the Chappaquiddick area. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, and children Christopher, Jennifer, Mathew, Eric, and Sharon.
