Jay Allen Brooks ’55

Jay Allen Brooks ’55, O.D., passed away on December 19, 2018, in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Born in Meriden, Connecticut, Jay came to Dartmouth from Cheshire Academy. He majored in mathematics and was a manager of crew. After graduation Jay attended the Illinois College of Optometry, 1956-59, earning an O.D. and B.S. He also received a master’s education from the University of Massachusetts. Jay established his optometry practice in Greenfield in 1960 and spent the rest of his life in that community. He married Mary Danielson, who passed away in 1972. Jay was an Alumni Fund volunteer and class agent (1983-87).
