James Wilson Shepard ’59

James Wilson Shepard ’59 died on May 28, 2017. He entered Dartmouth from Horace Mann School in New York City, majored in fine arts and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Following graduation Jim received his medical degree from Boston University, served for two years as a Navy doctor in Atlanta and completed his residency in the Boston area. In 1967 he began an almost-40-year career as an otolaryngologist at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, Massachusetts. He and his wife, Grace, lived in Sherborn, Massachusetts, for more than 50 years. In addition to Grace, Jim leaves sons Andrew ’89, James and Peter, their spouses and seven grandchildren.
