James Reynolds Murray ’52

James Reynolds Murray ’52 of Arlington, Massachusetts, and Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, passed away on January 22 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He was the husband of Marilyn Breed Murray, who predeceased him on December 25, 2020. He was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, on July 13, 1929, and attended Winchester High School and nearby Belmont Hill School before entering Dartmouth. After two years at Dartmouth, he transferred to and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. He also attended the University of Edinburgh and Northeastern University for graduate studies. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Morocco, North Africa. After military service, he worked in pharmaceutical sales and later in counseling and social work for the remainder of his career. He is survived by son James Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth; son John III and his wife, Laurie; and five grandchildren. Dartmouth family included his father, John, class of 1919; brother John Jr. ’47; and cousin William ’53.
