Isaac Richmond Hoxie III ’68
Isaac Richmond Hoxie III ’68 passed away November 25, 2024, in his home with his wife and loved ones by his side. Richmond was born July 21, 1946, to Isaac Richmond Hoxie II and Elaine (Hine) Hoxie in Huntington, New York. He was educated at Huntington High School, NYU, and Dartmouth, where he graduated with an A.B. in music composition. In his 40th reunion book Richmond listed his best college memory as playing Uncle Vanya in the Studio Theatre directed by Steve Coy. On a scholarship from Dartmouth, he trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Richmond enjoyed a long and diverse career as an actor, voiceover artist, and narrator in theater, film, television, radio, and audiobooks. He appeared on and off Broadway and in regional and stock theaters throughout the country. He was an avid and knowledgeable lover of poetry and music, particularly classical music, and an accomplished pianist and composer. Nature was a great solace in Richmond’s life. He was a keen hiker and birder and a longtime supporter of the Sierra Club. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Richmond is survived by sister Karen, brother-in-law Ken, nieces Susan and Dana, and extended family. Richmond will be missed for his wit, humor, talent, and love of life. A memorial service is planned for the spring.
