Herbert Wellington Chandler Jr. ’55

Herbert Wellington Chandler Jr. ’55, known to his family as “Grandpa Herb,” passed away at home in Endwell, New York, on June 26. He is survived by Janet, his wife of 66 years; sons Alan, Douglas, and Niles; and grandchildren Andrew, Reed, Lauren, Ethan, Sarah, and Rachel. Herb was born in Towson, Maryland, and graduated from Towson Senior High. He majored in history at Dartmouth and was a member of Zeta Psi and the lacrosse team. After graduation Herb served in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a contracts administrator for the U.S. Defense Department.
