Gerald Bernstein ’55

Gerald Bernstein ’55, M.D., passed away on February 15 in Oakland, California. He is survived by his wife, Sophia, daughter Cary ’84, son Clifford ’89, and granddaughter Samantha. After Dartmouth Jerry earned his M.D. from Tufts University Medical School. In 1959 he moved to Larchmont, New York, and established a medical practice in endocrinology, specializing in the treatment of diabetes. Jerry was elected president of the American Diabetes Association. He then became an officer and board member of Generex Biotechnology, a company developing a needle-free insulin delivery system, using the lining of the cheek, for millions of patients with diabetes.
