George Warren Carlson ’59

George Warren Carlson ’59 died on February 29. He entered Dartmouth from Manchester (New Hampshire) High School and was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa. He was in the 3-2 program with Tuck School and received his M.B.A. in 1960. He was in the Navy ROTC and, after graduation from Tuck School, served on a destroyer escort as an officer in the Navy. Following his naval service George was an advertising executive in New York City for more than 10 years. In the mid-1970s he and his wife, Sally, moved to Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and for more than 30 years he was the co-owner and operator of an automobile parts business. George and Sally retired to Spring Hill, Florida. When Sally predeceased him they had been married for 55 years. He leaves sons Christopher, Peter and Matthew, their wives, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves brother Robert and sister Karen. Another brother and sister predeceased him.
