George J. Schmitt III ’55
George J. Schmitt III ’55 passed away in Castle Rock, Colorado, on December 1, 2019. He was born in Geneva, Illinois, and prepared for Dartmouth at Lawrenceville School. He majored in sociology and was a member of Alpha Delta Chi, Dragon, and ROTC. After serving as a lieutenant in the Army, George followed his father and grandfather as president of the Hinckley and Schmitt Water Co. in Chicago. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children Philip, Karen, and Diana; and five grandchildren.
