Frederic Hyde Hawkins ’55

Frederic Hyde Hawkins ’55 passed away on January 25 at his home in Sarasota, Florida. He is survived by his daughters, Barrie, Cynthia, and Faith. His wife, Priscilla, died in 2004. Ted came to Dartmouth from Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut, and majored in English. He sang with the Glee Club and the Injunaires and broadcast for WDBS. He also was a member of Theta Delta Chi. Ted spent three years in the Navy as a lieutenant, j.g., and began a successful career in advertising and marketing with BBDO in New York in 1958. In 1997 Ted earned an M.A. from Manhattanville College and began a second career teaching at the Westchester Business Institute.
