Elizabeth Lee Agosto ’01

Elizabeth Lee Agosto ’01, known for her infectious laugh and ability to create family wherever she went, passed away unexpectedly October 31, 2024, in Southborough, Massachusetts. Her brilliant mind and caring heart carried her to Dartmouth, where she earned a sociology degree and was a member of Casque & Gauntlet, the Collis Center Governing Board, La Alianza Latin, Palaeopitus, and the Women in Science Project. She later served as an alumni councilor. She received her master’s in sociology at Fordham University before returning to Dartmouth as a senior associate dean of student affairs. There, she created lasting impacts through mentoring programs and improvements to student culture and safety. In 2019 she brought her gifts to Amherst College as dean of students and in July 2023 served as dean of students at St. Mark’s School in Southborough, where she continued her lifelong commitment to nurturing and educating others. Her family says what made Liz extraordinary was her ability to transform every space she entered into a home and every group into a family. Her infectious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room and she made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. She delighted in life’s simple pleasures—from bad movies to unusual animals—and shared that joy generously with others. She is survived by mother Melissa; stepfather Miguel; stepbrother Miguel Jr.; sister Jasmine; niece Annalisse; aunt Vera and her wife, Diane; cousin Julia; father Rafael; and half-brothers Zadkiel and Rafael Jr.
