Edward W Meissner ’60
Edward W Meissner ’60 died on August 12 in his hometown of Federalsburg, Maryland. He was born on April 7, 1938, to the late Walter and Alice Meissner in Chicago and was raised in Rush City, Minnesota. He came to Dartmouth from Rush City High School and left the College early to join the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from the Marine Corps with honors after 20 years of service and then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed music and was the choir and music director for many years at Grace Baptist Church in Hurlock, Maryland. He also enjoyed photography with his wife of 29 years, Linda; fishing; and model trains. He especially enjoyed family reunions back in Minnesota and get-togethers locally with Linda’s extended family. He is survived by Linda; children Cheryl, Robbie, and Mandy; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Interment was held at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
