Edward Everett III ’57

Edward Everett III ’57 passed away on September 26, 2023. Ted came to Dartmouth from Palo Alto (California) High School. He majored in economics, was a member of Phi Kappa Psi (social chairman), the Glee Club, the Dartmouth Outing Club, and Air Force ROTC. After college he served as a captain in the Air Force. He started at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, where the training received in sales and graphic arts were invaluable in his career. In 1960 he moved to the West Coast and worked in the graphic arts supply business for 10 years. He switched to printing sales by joining Warren Waller Press in San Francisco with a guarantee he would stay in the Bay Area. By 1979 he was a member of the board of directors and spent the remainder of a long career in commercial printing sales with this company, serving many longstanding clients until retirement. Ted was a member of the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce, the San Mateo Historical Society board, and the Episcopal Church. Ted was the life of family parties. He would play numerous songs by ear on his baby grand piano and the family would crowd around and sing. He also loved to play the ukulele. He somehow managed to take four kids snow skiing in the winter and water skiing in the summer. He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters Ellen and Marjorie; son Edward; and several grandchildren. Daughter Connie predeceased him.
