Edmund W. Sanderson ’52

Edmund W. Sanderson ’52 passed away on May 30 in Appleton, Wisconsin, of natural causes. He was born May 6, 1930, in Woburn, Massachusetts, but spent most of his childhood in Schenectady, New York, graduating from Nott Terrace High School. He and Ann Ashley married on February 8, 1951; celebrated 69 years of marriage; and raised children Peter and Deborah. Ted, a Rufus Choate scholar, graduated from Dartmouth in 1952 and Tuck in 1953. He was a member of Gamma Delta Chi. After serving three years in the U.S. Navy, Ted spent 27 years with Kimberly-Clark Corp in a succession of capacities in finance, management, and administration, retiring in 1987 as senior vice president and secretary. Ted was a member of the board of directors of Appleton Memorial Hospital and served as treasurer and board chair. Following retirement, he and Ann owned a succession of homes and boats in Florida and Wisconsin. Ted served on the boards of directors of two high-rise condominiums (and as treasurer of one and president of the other) and in several capacities for the United Church of Marco Island, Florida. He and Ann were also members of the Naples (Florida) United Church of Christ and of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Appleton. He is survived by Ann, two children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
