Douglas Edward Cook ’68

Douglas Edward Cook ’68, Esq., of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, died on June 16. A native of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, at Dartmouth Doug was active in intramurals and winter sports all four years, plus rugby, tennis, and the Ledyard Canoe Club. Favorite Dartmouth memories, from our 40th reunion book, included getting a good grade in organic chemistry despite all the premeds in the class, the embarrassment of blisters on the freshman trip despite warnings, bonfires on the Green, the Film Society, and dinners at Lou’s. Thanks to his success in organic chemistry, Doug became a chemistry major. He later shifted to law and graduated with a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971. Doug started with a small Philadelphia firm working on trust and estate law and eventually went into practice for himself, first in Philadelphia and later in Drexel Hill. The highlight of his life was meeting future wife Judith, a 1969 graduate of Vassar, who survives him with daughters Patience and Lindsay and four grandchildren.
